Sheriff's deputy killed in crash *

Raul GamaRaul Gama, a 20-year veteran Los Angeles County sheriff's deputy on surveillance duty in North Hollywod, died this morning when a van smashed into his unmarked parked car. The 18-year-old driver of the van was booked for felony manslaughter. Gama, 43, graduated from the Sheriff's Academy exactly two decades ago, on May 1, 1987. Gama lived in Chino and leaves a wife and four children.
