Demo at Her Ex building

Herald Examiner
Hearst Corp. is demolishing the old Herald Examiner press buildings downtown to make way for residential towers. The landmarked Julia Morgan-designed offices at 1111 S. Broadway (shown here in the photo from you-are-here.com) are not affected by this demolition, just the printing press area that fronts on Hill Street. "Downtown-based Urban Partners had been working on the plan, but the firm is no longer involved, and the Hearst representative said the company is looking for a development team to proceed with the construction," says today's Downtown News.
