Friends in the right places

Thursday night's benefit concert for the Academy of Music at Hamilton High will feature David Foster as emcee, Kenny G, trumpeter Chris Botti, the horns of Blood Sweat and Tears and a bunch of prominent jazz figures. The Lakers' Jordan Farmar is also expected in the house. Co-host is Norm Pattiz, the Westwood One founder who is a Democratic Party power player. Not surprisingly (given the crowd), this high school performance will have a VIP reception.
