John McKeon didn't last long in Woodland Hills — he bounced Tracy Rafter and took over just last October. No word yet where he's headed. The new guy, Ed Moss, has a past with the Daily News. Memo to the newsroom from editor Ron Kaye:

Everyone:

We've got a new publisher. He's Ed Moss, the former publisher of the Akron Beacon Journal, took over today, succeeding John McKeon.

Ed, who will try to come by this afternoon to say hello, previously was corporate vice president of for sales and marketing for Media General and positions at 21st Century Newspapers, Freedom, Tribune.

And get this he actually started his career right here when the Valley News & Greensheet was becoming the Daily News. Small world.

Please welcome him warmly when you see and if you feel it, let him know there's positive changes going on.

Thanks, Ron

* Update: Daily News story sheds no light on McKeon's departure.
