So much for cutbacks

There's some chuckling going on in Singleton newsrooms over the front page of Tuesday's Wednesday's sports section in the San Gabriel Newspaper Group papers, San Bernardino Sun and Inland Valley Daily Bulletin. Haven't seen it myself, but I'm told that the headline and caption featured Barry Bonds hitting his record-breaking 756th home run on Monday Tuesday night - while in the Getty Images photo he's actually hitting a double. The wags see it as a lesson of what happens when you try to do more with fewer bodies.

Around the diamond: The Dodgers finally scored in the first inning this morning but trail the Reds 3-2 going into the 6th inning.
