The Craigslist posting is looking for recent college grads and interns — code words for low to no pay. Worse, the ad can't decide if the paper is the Sun or the Star.

Are you a recent grad or a college student looking for that real life experience or internship needed to get your degree?? If so The Los Angeles Sun a brand new weekly newspaper that will be serving the Los Angeles area is looking for you.

The LA Sun is currently looking to fill the below positions with us in Los Angeles.

General Assignment Reporters: We are looking for an energetic journalist to be our next dayside general assignment reporter who will be a regular contributor to page one. This key newsroom role offers an experienced journalist the chance to cover hard news, features, enterprise stories and an increased emphasis on Web reporting.

Police Reporter: LA Star is seeking a well-rounded cops and crime reporter. The job is largely a 2 p.m. to 11 p.m. beat from Sunday through Thursday with other reporters covering nights on Fridays and Saturdays. Some general assignment reporting will be included.

Fire Reporter: LA Star is seeking a well-rounded reporter to cover Los Angeles County and city fire department news and info. The job is largely a 2 p.m. to 11 p.m. beat from Sunday through Thursday with other reporters covering nights on Fridays and Saturdays. Some general assignment reporting will be included.

High School Sports Reporter: We’re looking for someone who can get beyond the advance/game story/folo mentality. We want someone who can state their opinion, who can concisely follow trends on the preps level, and who can write a quality feature story or takeout enterprise package.

LA, Beverly Hills, Culver City and Hollywood City Hall Reporters: We need a 4 reporters with a deft writing touch and a detective’s investigative abilities. This journalist would cover city hall as the newspaper launches a push to revitalize the downtown and craft a vision for the community’s future. We need someone who will dig for stories of substance and texture, stories that make a difference. We want to be agenda setters, rather than just note takers and quote regurgitators.

Good luck.
