AlvarezVeteran anchor-reporter Linda Alvarez is taking her leave of Channel 2 at the end of the month, concluding 14 years at the station. Here's the so-long email and invitation she sent around the office. Caps are hers:

TO ALL MY FRIENDS IN THE NEWSROOM-

THIS IS AN INVITATION TO HELP ME CELEBRATE MY NEW ADVENTURE. AS MANY OF YOU ALREADY KNOW, I'VE DECIDED TO LEAVE THE STATION. MY LAST DAY ON THE AIR IS SUNDAY, DECEMBER 2ND.

I'VE HAD A WONDERFUL RUN ANCHORING AND REPORTING THE NEWS IN LOS ANGELES AND YOU HAVE HELPED MAKE IT POSSIBLE.

I'D LIKE TO SAY THANK YOU BY INVITING YOU TO AN OPEN HOUSE BRUNCH ON THE BEACH IN MALIBU, SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 25TH FROM 11:00 TO 2:30.
