Register-Singleton deal already done?

Nick Schou* thinks so and posts some intriguing evidence from a Singleton paper up north — how about a joint Media News Staff byline that includes a Register reporter's name? Sure sounds as if, at a minimum, sports and entertainment stories will be shared between the Singleton and Register empires and the beat reporters who have done separate coverage will be eliminated. Schou titles his ongoing OC Weekly blog coverage, perhaps overdramatically, as the Register Death Watch.

* It's Schou, not Gustavo Arellano. Can't keep those OC Weekly guys clear.
