Cecilia Rasmussen's regular Sunday column in the Times on L.A. historical figures went out with a bang. She and the paper commissioned DNA tests that appear to show that L.C Brand, an early 20th century developer and schemer whose name and imprint are all over Glendale and the northeast San Fernando Valley, had children through an extramarital affair. It's Rasmussen last scheduled "L.A. Then and Now" column: she took the buyout.
