More Latino-Armenian conflict at Valley school

Grant High School has been plagued for years by clashes between Latino and Armenian students — dating, some say, to hard feelings over the response to major earthquakes in Mexico and Armenia in the 1980s. On Wednesday, shouting between students at the end of an Armenian genocide remembrance assembly caused school police to intervene. No arrests were made, but involved students were sent home and in some cases suspended until Monday. Principal Linda Ibach said extra officers would be deployed through Monday "just to make sure that we are all calmed down." CBS2
