CoverLos Angeles this month has Mark Lacter's profile of Gina Marie Lindsey, the head of Los Angeles World Airports. Another LA Observed contributor, David Davis, has a piece on U.S. hopes in the marathon at the Beijing Olympics embodied by Big Bear's Ryan Hall. Also, Ed Boyer — formerly of the LAT and Daily Journal — examines the race between Mark Ridley-Thomas and Bernard Parks. The redesigned website also has blogs on eating, shopping and stuff to do. The site invites readers to vote until June 5 on the final four in the magazine's search for the greatest thing about L.A.

And in Tu Ciudad: The June-July "Best of Latino LA" issue of sister mag Tu Ciudad anoints Los Angeles' best tacos (La Taquiza), Mexican restaurant (Chichen Itza), Latino restaurant (Xiomara) and blog (Ken Burns Hates Mexicans.) It breaks out some bests for other cities, but somehow moves the Palms venue of Guelaguetza a couple of miles into Culver City. Staff writer Dennis Romero also talks to UFW legend Dolores Huerta about the night of RFK's 1968 assassination. Tu Ciudad has a few blogs too: pop culture, fashion and Romero on music.
