CTG offers $20 tix, lots of them

The Center Theatre Group says it's making 100,000 tickets available at $20 a pop to all shows this season at the Ahmanson Theatre, Mark Taper Forum and Kirk Douglas Theatre. Unlike the HotTix program the theaters usually offer, there is no two-ticket limit. “We hope this offers a little escape from all the bad economic news,” artistic director Michael Ritchie says in the release. Bad economic news at the CTG itself is behind the move, reporter Diane Haithman says at the LAT's Culture Monster blog.
