Bad news for ex-LAT staffers

From Tribune's internal Q-&-A on the impacts of today's Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing:

How are severance payments affected?

All ongoing severance payments, deferred compensation and other payments to former employees have been discontinued and will be the subject of later proceedings before the Court. Please contact call the Tribune Benefits Service Center at 800-872-2222 for details on your specific situation.

Talk about kicking them while they're down. Or maybe it's a good thing: Gawker dug out the filing detail that Tribune still owed former Times CEO Mark Willes $11 million. And Business Week's Jon Fine adds to the list of executive golden parachutes still on the books at Tribune.
