Getty curator retires

Weston Naef, longtime senior curator of photography at the Getty Museum, will retire to curator emeritus status on Jan. 31. The Getty announced in a statement that after retiring, Naef will complete work on the catalog raisonné of photographer Carleton Watkins, scheduled to be published by the Getty in spring 2010. Naef curated the current exhibit of Watkins photographs. Judith Keller will continue as curator of photographs while a search begins for a senior curator.
