MOCA developments o' the day

LACMA's board came out today and proposed in writing that the museum merge operations with MOCA. Here's a story by the LAT and the release from LACMA.

Also, on KCRW'S "Politics of Culture," City Council President Eric Garcetti said that as an ex-officio member of the MOCA board he was surprised to learn of the museum's financial troubles at the same time as the public. He and councilmember Jan Perry are proposing that revenue from California Plaza, the adjacent skyscraper, be looked at as funding source for MOCA. All of that development on Bunker Hill was built under CRA auspices. Audio
