Lesley Balla, late of Eater LA, is not the new LA Weekly food blogger. She starts Jan. 26 as Los Angeles editor for Tasting Table LA, a new daily email newsletter launching in February. As for Eater LA, part of the Curbed chain of blogs, her email explains "the company announced cutbacks in December, and several full-time bloggers were asked to stay on only as freelance. A good gig, but in this economic climate, a bit challenging."
