Peering into Burbank's time capsule

Lockheed Air Terminal 1959
The Burbank Times did a nice job with the 1959 photographs that were recovered from a time capsule dug out of a bridge in Burbank last month. The publication put together a special section written by Stan Lynch, who covered the original 1959 placing of the capsule, and photographer Ross A. Benson fanned out to recreate more than a dozen of the scenes with before and after photos. This image from 1959 is looking at the main terminal and control tower at what's now Bob Hope Airport.

Burbank media note: Former Daily Journal reporter Daniel Evans is the new editor of the Glendale News-Press, Burbank Leader, Crescenta Valley Sun and La Caņada Valley Sun.
