Blogger's close call on freeway

Susan Kitchens was in the fast lane on the 605 last night when a driver sped by in the adjacent carpool lane — going the wrong way! She writes:

I saw the oncoming lights in the next lane, and for a moment thought nothing of it. After all, just over the divider, there are many lights of many cars heading in the opposite direction. And the carpool lane has those double yellow lines, much like a major two-lane highway. It felt kinda like that. The car passed me without incident. It stayed in that lane, I stayed in mine. Then it occured to me that this was wrong way on this side. Oh shit! ...

Thank heavens. I live to tell you about it today, but I very well might have gone splat.

There's KTLA video at her site of the car whizzing by, then the driver being cuffed and taken away. Yeah, he flunked the field sobriety test.
