Easter hats of West Angeles

easterhats.jpgNPR staffer Karen Grigsby Bates has a nice Easter feature in this weekend's L.A. Times' Image section on church hats, focusing on the ladies who dressed for Palm Sunday services at the West Angeles Church of God in Christ. The Crenshaw congregation is one of the nation's largest, with 24,000 members. Kirk McKoy's photo slide show, from which the photo comes, is stunning.
