Singleton to charge for some web content *

Hard to see how this would apply to Dean Singleton's barely breathing SoCal newspapers, but here's the memo explaining MediaNews' plans to come up with some premium content that readers might pay for. [Added: Analyzed at PaidContent.org.]

* And rearranging the names: The Los Angeles Newspaper Group also gets a new masthead. Ed Moss leaves to become publisher of the San Diego Union-Tribune, Fred Hamilton ascends to LANG president, and Liz Gaier becomes interim publisher of the Daily News.
