Sharon Waxman's report that Nikki Finke inked a $14 million deal to sell Deadline Hollywood Daily has yet to be confirmed by anyone on the record, and Finke declines comment when asked. Various analysts have scoffed, and now Gawker managing editor Gabriel Snyder tells KPCC's Cyberfrequencies that he has heard the deal was worth $750,000 to $1 million. That a higher number is talked about, he says, "goes to her amazing ability to craft her own myth....she has created this character of Nikki Finke." For her part, Finke says "I never thought anything like this would happen. But here's the thing: I work 24/7."
