Daily News goes for a new publisher

Jack Klunder was named publisher of the Daily News two weeks after leaving as circulation head of the Los Angeles Times. He starts Monday, replacing interim publisher Liz Gaier. Klunder changes jobs often, but doesn't venture far from home. He spent 20 years as an executive at the Times, became VP for circulation at the Los Angeles Newspaper Group (which includes the Daily News) in 1999, then returned to the Times in 2005 — and now is back in the LANG camp.
