John Hughes, director was 59

The screenwriter and director known for the films "Sixteen Candles," "The Breakfast Club," "Pretty in Pink" and "Ferris Bueller's Day Off" among others died today while walking in Manhattan. A heart attack is apparently the cause. NYT, Variety, LAT
