Times admits Westwood crypt 'sale' bogus

The L.A. Times led the way in breathlessly reporting a few weeks ago that the crypt above Marilyn Monroe in Westwood had "sold on eBay" for a startling $4.5 million. Of course it hadn't — eBay users had simply joined in the fun and bid up the price. Again. Today's story finally concedes that all dozen million-dollar bids for the crypt were phony. Anyone surprised?
