L.A. not so confidential

lapdfileslappl.jpgThe Los Angeles Police Protective League says these boxes stacked near the employee entrance of the LAPD's Northeast Station are confidential personnel complaints against officers, "including names, serial numbers and work locations, in an area fully accessible to all employees!" Yeah, the union is kind of pissed, with good reason.

Meanwhile, end of an era: The Norman "Jake'' Jacoby Press
Room at Parker Center shuts down tomorrow to move to the new police headquarters. City News Service reporter Calvin Milam will be available to the media at Parker Center from about 8 to 10 a.m.; CNS says it will be the only media outlet to staff the new pressroom full-time, just as its reporters are mostly alone now. But oh, the stories the old walls could tell.
