New LAPD chief Charlie Beck sent officers in the field his latest round of promotions and reassignments tonight. Captains Blake Chow, Bob Green and Mike Moriarty make commander, Sharon Papa moves to Assistant Commanding Officer, Operations in the Valley Bureau, and Mary Grady remains as public information director. As the next step in reorganizing the Department, I have selected Captains Blake Chow, Bob Green and Mike Moriarty to be Commanders. In addition to these selections, I have made changes in assignments as reflected below. While some of these selections may be subject to budgetary review and approval, it is anticipated that the following changes will be effective Deployment Period 1, 2010.
