Happy Passedover

A day-after-Thanksgiving poem from Tony Peyser:

My wife Kathy recently announced that
She would not be bereft over
A new holiday after Thanksgiving where
Each guest brought a leftover.

We agreed it' a little like Boxing Day
The English have on behalf
Of tradespeople and laborers as well
As postal workers and staff.

We're going to try and do this this Friday
I hope you do, too, and have a blast over
This brand new occasion every November
Which I've decided to call Passedover.

Earlier: All day on the SoCal rails
