In re Finke v The Wrap, I guess we'll know soon *

Nikki Finke, on her Deadline Hollywood blog, asserts today that her competitor The Wrap "keeps getting turned down by the private investment companies which it has recently approached for survival funding -- Saban, Shamrock, and a long list of others. And the new owners of The Hollywood Reporter aren't interested in buying the website, given its deteriorating situation, although it's been offered to them again and again. Meanwhile, several more current staffers are openly looking for new jobs in this tough media market." The Wrap founder Sharon Waxman, who told me yesterday that the site "is not having any money problems at all," tweets in response: "nikki finke is so wildly jealous that everything she writes about thewrap is like opposite day, as in - the utter reverse. threatened much?" Waxman also says she has some positive announcements about partners and such coming up. They can't both be right. I suppose we'll find out pretty soon which one is BSing.

* 2 p.m. update:The Wrap did announce partnerships today with KPCC (to share content and have Waxman appear weekly on "Patt Morrison") and with CNN (share content and contribute to "Reliable Sources.")
