Does Kobe Bryant's wife look illegal?

vanessaev-thumb-400x227.jpgMuch chortling in Orange County, apparently, after Vanessa Bryant showed up at last night's Lakers game wearing a shirt with the political slogan "Do I Look Illegal?" Gustavo Arellano posts at the OC Weekly blog:

Bryant's statement is absolutely shocking, considering she's never exhibited any Aztlanista tendencies in her life. Sure, she's part-Mexi, and she and her husband are known to frequent El Camino Real in Fullerton from time to time, but Vanessa's most prominent connection to her Latino heritage before wearing this T-shirt (to express solidarity with the people protesting against Arizona's SB1070, or get attention like some of the commentators here are claiming? Come on, latter bola de pendejos...) was getting sued by her Peruvian maid for supposed workplace abuse.
Maybe she wore it to protest the pro-Arizona remarks by Lakers coach Phil Jackson?
