Caffie Greene, South L.A. activist was 91

Caffie Greene was part of a group of Watts mothers who became a formidable community force after the Watts riots in 1965. She focused on health issues and pushed for creation of the Martin Luther King Jr./Drew Medical Center in nearby Willowbrook, and was a field deputy for county Supervisor Kenneth Hahn. "I have picketed all my life," she told the L.A. Times in 1980. LAT, L.A. Sentinel
