The Wrap relaunches its look

The Wrap, which went online in January 2009, has now been around long enough to reach that point in every website's life where it had to start over with a new design and back-end infrastructure. Founder and editor Sharon Waxman explains:

We tried hard to respond to reader suggestions and complaints in making the site simpler to navigate while keeping the depth of content that starts conversations and brings readers back.

amanda-bynes-140.jpgOn the site right now, by the way: actress Amanda Bynes announced on her Twitter feed that, at the age of 24, she's leaving the business: "I don't love acting anymore so I've stopped doing it." Bynes, who grew up in Thousand Oaks, turned pro in commercials at seven and became a regular on Nickelodeon at ten. Let's hope she got out in time.

Also on the web: Longtime film critic Richard Schickel begins writing a monthly column for Truthdig.
