Fire damages Press-Telegram building

press-telegram-fire.jpgThe vacant former home of the Long Beach Press-Telegram was damaged by a fire Saturday afternoon that started near the old pressroom. Two firefighters were injured, one seriously enough to be hospitalized over night. Investigators suspect arson. The Press-Telegram's longtime home at 6th and Pine in downtown Long Beach has been slated for a mixed-use condominium development, but work has been delayed by the economy.
