Koreatown & Little Bangladesh: peace in our time *

sandford-map.jpgAt a City Council committee gathering this week, leaders from Koreatown and the newly nascent Little Bangladesh agreed on official boundaries of their respective communities. The full council is expected to ratify the lines as soon as next week. K-Town will be bounded generally by Western, Vermont, 3rd and Olympic (with a little antenna up Western to Rosewood) and Little Bangladesh will be the area along 3rd Street between Alexandria and New Hampshire. Zach Behrens at LAist has the Google maps and the backstory.

Google Maps mystery: They put a location label of "Sandford" between Wilshire Boulevard and 6th Street, west of Western. These obscure locaters that only Google recognizes are usually old tract names or Red Car stops, or sometimes just mistakes. Anyone know Sandford?

* Got some answers: It should be Sanford to begin with. Update
