Law professor Kmiec hurt in fatal car crash

Douglas Kmiec, the Republican law professor at Pepperdine who endorsed Barack Obama for president and became U.S. ambassador to Malta, was seriously injured in a one-car crash yesterday on Mulholland Highway near Calabasas. Sister Mary Campbell from Our Lady of Malibu Catholic Church, a passenger in his car, was killed at the scene. Pastor Emeritus Monsignor John Sheridan, who is 94 and from the same church, was injured. Both survivors were airlifted to UCLA. Malibu Times, Surfside News, AP, DN wires, Catholic News Agency
