405 project gets serious again

I-405-logo-color.jpgTonight the giant concrete muncher begins taking down the northern side of the Skirball Center Drive bridge over the 405 freeway deep in Sepulveda Pass. That will force a complete closure of one freeway direction for the next four nights. The southbound 405 is due to be closed from Burbank Boulevard to Getty Center Drive tonight and Wednesday, between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m. Northbound will be closed on Thursday and Friday nights between Getty Center Drive and Ventura Boulevard. Lanes going the other directions will also be squeezed down. Sepulveda Boulevard will be the main detour route. Metro, KCRW's Shortcuts blog
