Pretty big quake in Mexican waters

An earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 6.9 struck toward the southern end of the Gulf of California, about 85 miles from La Paz. The epicenter is in the gulf between the Mexican states of Sinaloa and Baja California Sur, more than 700 miles south of San Diego.
