Dear Alhambra: I'm Lebanese, get over it

An Arab-American writer who lives in Alhambra wanted to explain to others in the San Gabriel Valley what it means to be Lebanese, since so many ask her about it. Nasrin Aboulhosn contributes her piece to Alhambra Source. Excerpt:

Growing up in Alhambra with the name Nasrin Aboulhosn has not always made for a simple introduction. In a city packed with foreign names, substitute teachers would still always stumble over mine. Even the barista at Starbucks always asks, “I’m sorry, Jasmine, was it?”
