Caltech wins! No prank

caltech-celebration.jpg

quantum-hoops.pngCaltech broke its 310-game basketball losing streak with a one-point win tonight — at home — over rival Occidental in the final game of the season. It's the Beavers' first conference win since, oh, 1985. The final: 46-45. Best tweet: "Well, it had to end sometime." The Caltech losing streak was the stuff of sports and collegiate legend, chronicled in the film Quantum Hoops. Watch the trailer, narrated by David Duchovny.

Noted: Caltech plays in the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference — and has since the conference formed in 1915.
