Curbed editor leaves for Daily News

Dakota Smith took over as Curbed LA editor in 2007 and guided the site to must-read status with a lot of original reporting. A post at the site today announces she's leaving, and opens the call for a new blogger to join the team. Smith confirms by email that she has joined the Daily News as a general assignment reporter.

More media people: La Opinión reporter Claudia Nuñez and ProPublica senior reporter T. Christian Miller, the former L.A. Times staff writer, will be Knight journalism fellows at Stanford next academic year.
