'Los Angeles' wins two Ellies tonight

ellie.jpgThis is pretty huge for Los Angeles magazine — and a great night in New York. Los Angeles picked up the American Society of Magazine Editors Award tonight in New York for feature writing (by Ben Ehrenreich for The End) and for General Excellence, Special Interest Magazines. Editor Mary Melton, there in person to receive the Ellies hardware, said "the big test is taking this through TSA tomorrow," according to a Folio magazine tweet. Vanity Fair won in columns and criticism for three pieces by Christopher Hitchens. Full list of winners.
