An alternative diet plate

The anonymous blogger at Ruth Bourdain has customized the government's new dietary plate to his/her own foodie taste. The blog, by the way, is worth a stop anyway just for the mashup of Ruth Reichl and Anthony Bourdain.

Speaking of meat and media people: Loyola Law professor and novelist Yxta Maya Murray rips Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg a new one over his boast that he kills and dresses his own meat these days. "I think that the main thrust, so to speak, of Z’s enthusiasm for garroting hens and porcinicide is that we all understand that he is A Real Man. He’s not the little thumbsucker that screenwriter Aaron Sorkin said couldn’t get into a Harvard finals club in The Social Network!" Zuckerberg's Blood Lust at Zocalo's Nexus.
