Jean Harris, Democrat and lesbian was 66

Jean Harris. a former Deputy Mayor of San Francisco and an icon of the lesbian political community in California, died Sunday in Palm Springs. Karen Ocamb at LGBT/POV has last night's email from Palm Springs City Council member Ginny Foat and reaction from gay and lesbian groups and Democrats, plus a statement from Harris' partner Denise Penn. Harris had worked for both Herb Wesson and Fabian Nunez when they were Assembly Speaker.
