Viewing Bill Burke and the Dodgers through smoggy eyes

Bill Burke, the politically connected operator who apparently wants to buy the Dodgers with Chinese state money, is among other things the longtime chairman of the South Coast Air Quality Management District board. That makes him the most powerful smog fighter (or allower) in the region. Chip Jacobs, the co-author of "Smogtown: the Lung-Burning History of Pollution in Los Angeles," observes on Burke being partners with the world's worst air polluter.
