When is a Calderon just a Calderon?

Good item at PolitiCal, the L.A. Times' state-oriented politics blog. The item observes upon the perpetual presence of family members named Calderon on the Democratic ballot in the 58th Assembly district at the eastern end of Los Angeles County.

Tom Calderon represented the district from 1999 through 2002, when he was succeeded by his younger brother, Ron, who in turn was followed by their older brother, Charles, who has held the seat for the last six years. Counting his earlier, pre-term limits stint in the lower house, Charles Calderon has put in more than 20 years in the Assembly but now is termed out. So brother Tom is looking to replace him in next year's elections--running in the recently redrawn 58th District.

Also this: Ron is running for Congress against Rep. Linda Sanchez in the newly drawn 38th congressional district. And Charles' son Ian Calderon has filed to raise money for a run for the new 57th Assembly district.
