405

Would you believe the 'Rampture' on I-405?

sunset-bridge-1957.jpgOn- and off-ramps serving Sunset Boulevard at the 405 freeway will start closing Friday for 14-day periods of rebuilding. It's the other shoe falling from the earlier demolition of half the Sunset bridge over the freeway — and officials acknowledge that traffic will be a mess for the duration. Once this phase is done, crews will tear down the other half of the bridge and start over. (Sound familiar?) Kajon Cermak has details at the KCRW's Shortcuts blog.

Add Kajon: KCRW's traffic reporter was honored this week with a Golden Pylon Award from local transportation agencies.
