Fundraiser season in L.A. *

bermandinnercrop.jpgThe Veterans Day break brought the money seekers to L.A. to raid some Hollywood wallets. Gov. Jerry Brown, House minority leader Nancy Pelosi and Rep. Henry Waxman were among the Democratic heavies who attended the Beverly Hilton funder for Rep, Howard Berman. He added another $1.6 million at the event put together by Hollywood politics advisor Andy Spahn, says the Hollywood Reporter. Earlier, Eli Broad and Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa attended a fundraiser for Michigan’s junior Democratic senator, Debbie Stabenow. And Saturday night there was a Hollywood turnout to give money to Alan Grayson, who lost his Florida congressional seat to a Tea Party Republican.

* Variety on Berman event: "Berman is facing his first major campaign, perhaps since he was first elected," says Ted Johnson.
