Angels sign Albert Pujols for ten years

pujols-signs-with-angels.jpgBaseball's biggest free agent, possibly ever, is coming to play in Los Angeles of Anaheim. The Angels got Albert Pujols with a deal said to pay him at least $250 million over ten seasons, Yahoo Sports and ESPN report. Pujols has been a folk hero in St. Louis for the Cardinals, where he just won the World Series, and possibly the best power hitter in baseball. The signing of such a marquee name by the Angels certainly punctuates the Dodgers' signing of numerous old and near-the-end utility types this off-season, a series of transactions that has been panned on many baseball websites. The Angels, however, already have a couple of power-hitting first basemen and look to have an embarrassment of power on their roster for the moment.

The Angels also have signed the best free-agent starting pitcher on the market, C.J. Wilson of the Texas Rangers.
