Behind the scenes of today's holiday concert downtown

Anybody who shows up at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion today can get in to watch the annual Christmas Eve free concert, now in its 40th year. Seating is first come, first served, and there's often a line. This year's show starts at 3 p.m. and runs three hours, less than in past years. It will be televised live on KCET and aired live on radio on KPFK (FM 90.7.)

A couple of weeks back, all the performers (professionals and students) came in on a Saturday for their one day of rehearsal. LA Observed was there and shot a little video, above. Featured in the clip are Colburn School singers, The Bricks, the Versa-Style Dance Company and the Young Angels Choir of Los Angeles.

Also: The Bricks were honored this week by the county Board of Supervisors.
