Phil's Diner makes it 8 months, but that's it

phils-diner-2.jpgYou might recall all the pomp and congratulations last year when Phil's Diner, a 1920s eatery that had closed on North Hollywood's Chandler Boulevard a decade ago, moved back into a new locale in nouveau NoHo and reopened as Phil’s Diner Fresh n’ Fast. Well, it turns out that NoHo is still really North Hollywood and there wasn't as much demand for an "organic, sustainable fast food restaurant that embraces local, hormone-free and pesticide-free food, compostable containers and other green components" as one might have thought. North Hollywood Patch has the backstory on the diner's closure this past Sunday.

Phil's, by the way, closed just shy of the opening next door of the NoHo 7, Laemmle's new seven-screen theater, scheduled for Wednesday.
