State Sen. Sharon Runner has double-lung transplant

Runner was recovering at UCLA Ronald Reagan Medical Center after receiving two new lungs, said her husband, Board of Equalization member George Runner. The senator, elected a year ago from the Antelope Valley, was diagnosed 20 years ago with limited scleroderma, an autoimmune disease that affects the body's connective tissue.
